In The Present was founded in 2017 by Lynette Wong, a qualified instructor of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Lynette started practicing meditation in 2012, and was introduced to the concept of mindfulness through the book "Full Catastrophe Living" by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn. Fuelled by a deep desire at the time to learn how to slow down thought-to-speech and action patterns, she started exploring MBSR. Through the intense process of applying its foundations, she began seeing herself more clearly and began to experience the power of staying in the moment.

EXPERIENTIAL | PRACTICAL | IN ONE'S OWN TIME
Approach
A one-size-fits-all approach will not help individuals whose experiences and challenges vary from one to the next. Thus, while a structure is followed, each MBSR session is unique and never exactly the same. The essence of mindfulness and MBSR is distilled and delivered in a simple and practical way, through various meditative practices and the inquiry of participants' own experiences, so that what can be learnt is first experienced. Through the collective wisdom of participants' in an MBSR session or a community sit, there is shared discovery of what mindfulness is, along with its applications in a non-religious manner. In addition, due to the sometimes sensitive nature of what is shared, care is also taken to maintain confidentiality, safety and respect for all participants
Our Vision
is simple and possible.
One Mindfulness program, one coaching conversation at a time for people from all walks of life - towards a society empowered by the potential of the present moment, and wakeful to its individual and collective affect.
